Reaching new heights

Hi, I’m Tom.

For over twenty years, I’ve made a career of exploring places where uncertainty is part of everyday life.

I’m a professional adventurer, paraglider and paramotor pilot, sailor, filmmaker and keynote speaker. My work has taken me across some of the world’s most demanding environments; from record-breaking flights and pioneering expeditions to long-distance sailing journeys.
But the expeditions are only part of the story.

What fascinates me most is the human side of adventure:
how people react when plans change,
how teams come together under pressure,
how trust is built,
and how good decisions are made when there are no perfect options.

These experiences have shaped the way I see leadership, teamwork and resilience, but above all, they’ve shaped the way I see people. Whether I’m exploring, filming, speaking or simply sharing a story, my goal has always been the same: to inspire curiosity, encourage people to embrace uncertainty, and remind us that some of life’s greatest lessons begin the moment we step beyond what’s familiar.

When experiences speaks

Having spent much of my life exploring some of the world’s most demanding environments. Today, those experiences have become stories, perspectives and lessons I’m privileged to share with audiences around the world.

Adventure may look extraordinary, but the challenges it reveals are surprisingly universal.

Every one of us faces uncertainty.
Plans fail. Information is incomplete. Pressure rises.
The question is never whether uncertainty will come, but how we choose to respond when it does.

After more than twenty years leading expeditions across oceans, mountains and remote regions, I’ve learned that the principles that help people navigate the unknown are often the very same ones that help teams, organisations and individuals thrive through change.

In their own words

“I especially wanted to share how much I personally enjoyed Tom’s keynote. The way he structured it, weaving insights together and closing each part with a story, made it both engaging and memorable. It clearly resonated with the audience, and you could feel how attentive and involved everyone was throughout. What made it even more special was hearing my colleagues talk about it again the next day, reflecting on the stories and the key takeaways.”

“What an inspiring keynote from Tom. Through stories from his expeditions, he took us far beyond the peaks and shared powerful lessons that resonate just as strongly in life as in management: the total commitment needed to turn a vision into reality, the courage to push personal boundaries when facing the unexpected, and the importance of giving purpose to every project. Thank you, Tom, for your authenticity and energy. We left feeling inspired, recharged, and ready to push our own limits.”

It's all about sharing

Today, I’m based in the Azores with my family, also home to our expedition sailboat, while continuing to explore the world through new expeditions and projects.

For me, every journey is about more than reaching a destination. It’s about the people you meet, the lessons you learn and the stories that stay with you long after you’ve returned home.

Photography, filmmaking and storytelling have become an essential part of every adventure; not simply to document what happened, but to share a different perspective, spark curiosity and inspire others to explore beyond what’s familiar.

Because experiences only truly come alive when they’re shared.

Give me a follow

Bad news is time flies. Good news is you’re the pilot.
